How to Start an RU
Discover Recovery
Reformers Unanimous is a Christ-centered, faith-based program. We believe the local church is God’s support group to minister to addicted people. Many pastors watch one of our recorded videos or recorded classes to catch a vision to have such ministry opportunity in their church.
Choose the right Director
Choosing the right director is one of the single most important decisions. The Director will lead a group of lay-people in the church to create a group atmosphere that seeks to live a victorious, spirit-filled life. He does not need to be a novice, but have some tenure as a sober, spirit-filled leader in the church. The director could be a paid staff positions responsibility, or a laymen type role. Some Pastor’s choose to be the Director until they develop someone to their liking to this role. The Director needs to be able to Teach / Preach during the last part of class and keep people’s attention and interest. It would be most helpful if he has some strong leadership qualities and organization skills. Pastors can feel free to call the office of the International Director for further advice and wisdom on this subject.
Director Training
The founder of Reformers Unanimous developed a strong curriculum, awards, challenge group techniques, and formats to get visitors and keep them. He also developed clear systems that would lead a new student to Christ and help that student develop a personal dynamic relationship with Christ. Our goal at Reformers Unanimous is for students to become dynamic lay-leaders in the local church. Because churches are independent and may choose to customize some parts of the program, it is strongly advised that men interested in being directors attend one of our training sessions in Rockford to learn the prototype that has worked since 1996.
